News – STEVE’S STUNNING DIAMOND

On Friday 19th April Jumbo games presented the Wasgij ‘Win a Diamond’ winner - Steve Murphy with his stunning IGI certified pear-shaped diamond that is worth an estimated £12,000 at retail at the Jumbo offices in Hatfield Park.
It was great to meet Steve in person to present him with his diamond and get to know a true fan of Wasgij jigsaw puzzles. Steve was a real pleasure to meet and brought a good sense of humour to presentation day and it is no understatement when we say that seeing his joy when presented with his prize, brought a huge smile to all the faces of the Jumbo staff that day.
We asked Steve a couple of questions about the Wasgij promotion to know what it was like to be told that you’d won a £12,000 diamond…
How did you hear about the promotion? “When I opened the 15th Anniversary Destiny Tin and saw the leaflet inside, informing me to go online and enter.”
What made you decide to enter? “The fact that the main prize was a £12,000 diamond and that it was easy to enter.”
What were you doing when you got the phone call to say you'd won? “I was at work when the email came through saying that I was the main winner.”
How did you feel? Do you remember how you responded? “Really excited, aghast and didn’t quite believe that I had won. I rang my partner right away to tell her the fantastic news.”
How did your friends and family react when you told them what you'd won? “Everyone was as surprised as I was. My daughter who is travelling is yet to find out, but she will do now that I have it in my hand. Work was very very excited and pleased for me.”
Do you have any idea what you'll be doing with your diamond? “No idea at the moment – but keeping it in a very safe place.”
Are you glad you entered our Diamond promotion? “No not really – what would anyone want with a £12,000 diamond! Of course I am – I’ll be looking out for more competitions from now on!”
How long have you been a Wasgij fan? I was brought my first Wasgij puzzle 5 years ago as a gift from a friend
What got you into the puzzles? The Wasgij Mystery range is what made me first pick up a Wasgij myself
